Hey Nabil, that’s such an interesting, heavy piece of work.

I think I’ve learned a lot of things from this but the part about how our past influences our beliefs and reactions and how your behaviour on the subway is linked to your childhood spent playing cards with your dad really hit me.

We tend to dismiss a lot of events or habits as inconsequential and forget that things add up pretty quickly.

What I found beneficial as a way to be aware of my own beliefs, how they’re tied to past events and what I can do to change them if needed is meditation. It’s surprising how much stuff can come to the surface when you sit quietly with yourself.
